"We understand that Iran, along with Russia, is responsible for killing civilians in Ukraine," Fyodor Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and a representative of the President in the Constitutional Court, told Report.
According to him, there is no doubt that today Iran supplies Russia with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) such as Shahed, Mohajer-6:
"These drones carried out attacks on the territory of Ukraine. 99% of them hit civilian targets and important infrastructure. We have captured such types of drones with no damage. The analysis of our scientists confirms that these drones were manufactured in Iran. Therefore, there is no doubt about the use of UAVs produced by this country against Ukraine."
Fyodor Venislavsky stressed Iran currently supports one of the parties to the conflict – Russia:
"Main Intelligence Directorate Ukraine has clear evidence about the supply routes and numbers of the drones brought from Iran to Russia. Therefore, according to international law, we can say that Iran currently supports one of the parties to the conflict - Russia. Iranian officials who agreed to export drones to Russia bear legal and moral responsibility for civilian casualties, just like those who used these lethal weapons in Ukraine."
The MP believes that Ukraine will continue to react and draw attention to this issue at the level of international organizations:
"We expect that the West will stand in solidarity with Ukraine in strengthening the sanctions against Iran. The main issue is related to the mechanisms of delivery of Iranian UAVs to Russia and Iran's ability to develop these drones. So, according to our information, components produced in European countries are used in developing these types of drones. International institutions may consider this as a violation of sanctions against Iran."
