Colonel clarifies reasons behind campaign targeting Azerbaijani Army

"A smear campaign unleashed against the Azerbaijani Army lately is either an order or a sequel of someone's unfounded ambitions. I'm against all of this. It is unacceptable to campaign against the army and to make it a target," Report quoted Deputy Chairman of the Council of Veterans of War, Labor and Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Republic, Colonel Jalil Khalilov, as saying.

"There are thousands of people in the army who carry out their duties with great professionalism. The army should not be discredited. The army is our source of pride."

Khalilov said that those who are spreading such lies play into the enemy's hands. Even though that information is false, the enemy benefits from it and propagates it.
