Report, Baku TV ink co-op memo with China's CCTV+

Baku TV and Report News Agency, which are part of Global Media Group, have signed a memorandum of cooperation in Beijing with the leading Chinese CCTV+ Video News Agency.

The ceremony took place on April 27 in Beijing with the participation of representatives of the parties.

The document was signed by CCTV+ CEO Li Xia, Report Director Fuad Huseynaliyev, and Baku TV Director Ramin Jafarov.

CCTV+ Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief Gao Wei noted that the partnership would become an important "media bridge" between the two countries.

"The exchange of information and experience with such modern media outlets as Baku TV and Report will enrich the news agenda and ensure prompt support in covering key events," he stated.

Baku TV Director Ramin Jafarov, speaking on behalf of Global Media Group Board Chairman Elnur Abdullayev, emphasized that the main objective of the memorandum is to develop long-term and effective cooperation, as well as to ensure prompt information exchange and mutual support.

"The exchange of video content within the cooperation will allow us to expand the presence of our media products in Asia and strengthen our international positions," he noted.

In turn, Report Director Fuad Huseynaliyev highlighted the importance of global information exchange.

"The exchange of operational data, photo and video materials with a leading Chinese media organization will allow our readers to gain a more complete picture of events. This is another step in expanding international partnership ties," he said.

CCTV+ Video News Agency is a specialized division of China Central Television CCTV. The agency provides news and video content to more than 1,800 television channels and over 1,000 digital platforms in more than 130 countries and regions.

The signing of the memorandum is a follow-up to Global Media Group's strategy to expand international cooperation. Earlier in 2025, similar agreements were concluded with media organizations in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Global Media Group, one of the largest media groups in Azerbaijan, began its operations in 2017. Global Media Group comprises television channels, news agencies, news portals, newspapers, and other companies operating in Azerbaijan and abroad.
