Artificial intelligence (AI) technology can become an effective tool for promoting the history of the Timurid dynasty among young people, Director of Report News Agency Fuad Huseynaliyev said at the international media forum "Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective – New Discoveries."
Report's correspondent in Tashkent quotes him as saying that AI can be used to create documentaries about historical figures that would be more accessible and engaging for a wider audience.
"The use of artificial intelligence could be one of the effective methods to show how great the history of the Timurids was, and how remarkable they were not only as rulers but also as scholars, physicians and experts in various fields," Huseynaliyev noted.
He emphasized the importance of joint media projects among the countries of the region and highlighted Kazakhstan TV's initiative to produce a documentary about the cultural heritage of Turkic peoples.
"Once this film is released, we can show it in all our countries. This can be done using dubbing, subtitles and other tools. Such initiatives should be welcomed," Report's director said.
Huseynaliyev also highlighted the historical ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, noting that during the Timurid era, craftsmen from Azerbaijan, including builders and architects, were involved in the construction of architectural monuments in Samarkand.
He said that projects using AI to promote historical heritage are already being developed in Azerbaijan. In particular, a historical documentary about Uzun Hasan, the founder of the Aq Qoyunlu state, created entirely using artificial intelligence, has been presented.
"In addition, other films are being produced. They have not yet been fully presented, but I know of projects dedicated to the life and activities of Shah Ismail Khatai Safavi, the founder of the Safavid state," he said.
At the same time, Huseynaliyev stressed that professional historians and researchers should be involved in the production of AI-generated films on historical topics.
"The most important thing is that these films present historical truth as accurately as possible. The films should be produced with the involvement of professional historians and scholars," he emphasized.
According to him, the development of such joint media projects will contribute to further strengthening cooperation between the media landscapes of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
