International cooperation and the exchange of experience among journalists and media professionals play an important role in responsibly shaping the future, Euronews General and Editorial Director Claus Strunz said.
According to Report, speaking at the international media forum "Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective – New Discoveries" in Tashkent, Strunz stressed the importance of cooperation among journalists worldwide.
"Meeting one another means creating the future in the right and responsible way," he said.
Strunz said media organizations around the world should work together and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in journalism.
He also noted that Euronews is participating in this year's International Media Forum as a media partner. Strunz wished success to the forum, which has brought together media representatives, experts and practitioners from various countries.
"For us, journalism is not simply a business or a profession - it is a calling," the Euronews chief said.
Concluding his remarks, Strunz quoted Mirza Ulugh Beg on the importance of knowledge and scientific heritage: "Religions disperse like fog, empires destroy themselves, but the work of a scholar remains forever. The pursuit of knowledge is everyone's duty."
