UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman shared his impressions of his first visit to the Karabakh region.
Norman, who is visiting Karabakh as part of a delegation of the foreign diplomatic corps, told Report's correspondent in Khankandi that he was impressed by the pace of reconstruction work in the region.
"This is really my first visit to Karabakh, and I am impressed by how much has already been reconstructed here. We saw everything from magnificent roads and tunnels to a university, hotels and a cultural center. In just one morning, we saw incredible examples of reconstruction being carried out by Azerbaijan," the diplomat said.
The ambassador noted that the United Kingdom is participating in the reconstruction process in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
"The UK was the first country to assist ANAMA in 2020 as part of a mine clearance project. We continue to provide support in the field of demining," Norman emphasized.
He also said that British architects developed the master plan for the city of Shusha.
"I am looking forward to visiting Shusha this afternoon," the ambassador added.
