"Unfortunately, we now live in unusual times when there is a war. Some forces want to present this conflict as a religious war. This is a delusion, and I am sure of it. This is a war for those territories that have been illegally captured. "
Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Azerbaijan Vladimir Fekete said. "Unfortunately, not only soldiers are killed, but also residents of peaceful cities of Azerbaijan. Children, older people, and women die. They have nothing to do with fighting, "he said.
V. Fekete added that he has been living in Azerbaijan for 11 years and working for the benefit of these people and foreigners here.
"We and all those who came here have witnessed that Azerbaijan is a tolerant country. Both people and the country's leaders are trying to maintain bonds of brotherhood and friendship. We - Catholics - live and pray for the peace of the souls of the victims and the peaceful and quick restoration of justice," – he assured.
