"There are places in the liberated territories where Armenians have planted more than ten mines per square meter," President at International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), Umud Mirzayev, said.
Report quotes as saying that one of the first conditions for the IDPs to return home is to clear the mined areas as quickly as possible.
Head of the Azerbaijani Company Against Mines Public Union Hafiz Safikhanov noted that landmines hit about 3,000 people in Azerbaijan during the Karabakh conflict; 525 of those were killed. The number of landmines during the war is still unknown, as this issue is still under investigation.
