Russian peacekeepers to be deployed to alternative route to Lachin Corridor

Russian peacekeeping forces on the territory of Azerbaijan will be deployed on an alternative route to the Lachin corridor, President Ilham Aliyev said in a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council Charles Michel.

The head of state also emphasized that the route of a road alternative to the Lachin Corridor had been determined as per the agreement reached with the Russian Defense Ministry in accordance with the provisions of the trilateral Statement, that the construction of this road by Azerbaijan was nearing completion and that Russian peacekeeping forces would be deployed on that road after its construction was completed.
