The restoration of infrastructure and historic buildings in Azerbaijan's Kalbajar district is a large-scale process requiring considerable effort, particularly given the region's challenging mountainous terrain, Polish traveler Erek Klopotowski, who is visiting the region as part of an international group of travelers, said.
According to Report's correspondent in Karabakh, he said he had visited Azerbaijan several years ago but was visiting Karabakh and East Zangazur for the first time.
"When you see roads, tunnels, residential buildings and cultural facilities being built amid mountains and forests, you realize how challenging this task is. What is impressive is not only the construction itself but also its scale," Klopotowski said.
The traveler also praised efforts to rebuild the region and create conditions for residents to return to their homes.
"It is amazing to see how much effort has gone into developing this region, building infrastructure and creating conditions for people to return to their homes. The infrastructure here has already been established and is ready to accommodate residents," he noted.
Speaking about the restoration of old buildings and historical sites, Klopotowski stressed that the process could require significantly more time and effort than the construction of new buildings.
He also expressed a desire to revisit the region in five to 10 years to see the results of the ongoing restoration work.
