Nika Chitadze: Azerbaijan's liberated territories being rebuilt at rapid pace

Infrastructure in Azerbaijan's liberated territories is being restored at a very rapid pace, Professor Nika Chitadze of the International Black Sea University in Tbilisi told Report's Western Bureau said while visiting Ganja as part of a group of Georgian journalists and bloggers traveling to Azerbaijan.

He noted that he had previously visited Baku but was visiting Karabakh and other regions of Azerbaijan for the first time.

"I witnessed Azerbaijan's development, particularly the large-scale projects being implemented following the restoration of the country's territorial integrity. Indeed, infrastructure in the liberated territories is being restored at a very rapid pace," he said.

Chitadze said he was well acquainted with the causes of the Karabakh conflict.

"I have closely studied the First and Second Karabakh Wars, their causes and other related issues. Now, thanks to the support of our Azerbaijani friends, we have had the opportunity to visit Karabakh. I believe that the peace established in the region will be long-lasting, as the likelihood of the conflict resuming has been virtually reduced to zero," the professor said.
