The European Union will continue to support Azerbaijan in demining and the restoration of the liberated territories, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Magdalena Grono told Report's correspondent in Khankandi. She is visiting the Karabakh region as part of a delegation of representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps.
According to her, the EU remains a reliable partner of Azerbaijan and supports various programs, including the peace agenda and regional cooperation.
"By supporting peace, we also seek to contribute to addressing the consequences of past conflicts. This includes supporting conflict-affected communities, reconstruction and, in particular, demining," she noted.
The EU representative stressed that the European Union welcomes the positive dynamics in regional development and the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
She noted that important practical steps are being taken in areas such as border delimitation, transport connectivity, trade and people-to-people contacts.
"We hope that all this will create the necessary conditions and ultimately lead to the final signing of a peace agreement," the EU representative added.
