"Historical, cultural, and religious ties between our countries form the basis of bilateral cooperation," Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan.
The minister noted that Iran has always supported Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the inviolability of its borders. Especially during the 44-day war, the Iranian support at all levels, including the people, was highly appreciated by the Azerbaijani people.
Bayramov said that relations between the two countries are close, and such contacts continue intensively even amid the current pandemic.
