Representatives of the diplomatic corps, as part of their visit to Karabakh, viewed in the city of Shusha the busts of prominent Azerbaijani figures Natavan, Bulbul and Uzeyir Hajibayli, which had been shot at during the occupation.
According to Report's correspondent in Karabakh, the diplomats were told that the busts, which were subjected to Armenian vandalism during the occupation, were looted and taken to Armenia, where an attempt was made to melt them down for scrap metal.
It was noted that, following the intervention of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the monuments were returned to Azerbaijan.
The busts, which had been kept for some time in the courtyard of the National Museum of Art of Azerbaijan in Baku, were returned to their original locations after the city of Shusha was liberated from occupation.
