28,000 people now live and work in Azerbaijan's Khankandi, presidential rep says

To date, 28,000 people already live and work in Azerbaijan's Khankandi, Elchin Yusubov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Khankandi city, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, told representatives of the diplomatic corps during their visit to the Cultural Center in the city, a Report correspondent informs.

He noted that the process of returning former internally displaced persons to Khankandi is actively underway.

"Currently, more than 3,000 students study at Karabakh University in Khankandi. This accounts for over 10% of the total number of people living in the city," Yusubov said.

According to him, new residential buildings and parks are being constructed in the city, and roads meeting modern requirements are being built.

"At the same time, the process of demolishing unsightly structures that do not align with the city's appearance and modern urban planning standards has accelerated. Alongside this, design work has begun for the construction of modern buildings that meet new requirements," he added.
