Volume of transportation along Middle Corridor planned to increase to 7,000 containers

The volume of shipments along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor) is planned to increase to 7,000 containers, Mirziyod Mirkhamidov, chairman of the Board of the Uzbek company O'ztemiryo'lkonteyner, said at the 2nd Caspian International Transport, Transit, and Logistics Forum in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, work within the CASCA+ and Middle Corridor, which pass through the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus in the China-Europe direction, is particularly relevant given the need to diversify logistics routes: "At the same time, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is accelerating the redirection of cargo shipments along sea and land transport routes. This, in turn, increases the load on the CASCA+ and TITR routes."

Mirkhamidov noted that, according to analytical data, global logistics chains have changed by more than 35% over the past three years: "As a result, cargo delivery times on a number of routes have increased by 20-40%. It is under these conditions that the CASCA+ transport corridor, or Middle Corridor, is becoming one of the most promising routes between China and Central Asia. Currently, this corridor provides a stable flow of approximately 5,000 containers per year. This year, it is planned to increase the volume to 6,500-7,000 containers."
