UN official: Institutional implementation of new urban development still limited

Institutional implementation of the new urban development approach remains limited in countries, UN-Habitat Advisor Zeina Elzein said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
She noted that while 10 years ago, discussions about cities focused primarily on the physical aspects-infrastructure, buildings, and expansion-the focus has now shifted to systems, sustainability, social inclusion, climate adaptation, and stakeholder participation.
"As an educator, I see these changes in education. However, institutional implementation is still limited. We already have a vision, but we need to pay more attention to how to implement it," Elzein said.
