Türkiye supports turning Baku Coalition into permanent climate dialogue platform

Türkiye supports turning the Baku Continuity Coalition into a permanent climate dialogue platform.

Report informs that Turkish Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Hasan Suver said this at a high-level meeting of the Baku Continuity Coalition for Urban Climate Action and Sustainable Urbanization, held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

According to the deputy minister, climate change has long ceased to be only an environmental issue and has become a complex and multifaceted challenge. This problem directly affects the safety of urban areas, the resilience of infrastructure systems, as well as food and water security.

"Türkiye sees the Baku Continuity Coalition as a strategic connecting line between COP29 in Baku, WUF13 and COP31 to be held in Antalya. The coalition should become a permanent dialogue platform and support the transformation of declarations of intent into practical projects and concrete financial mechanisms," the deputy minister stressed.
