Relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan are rapidly deepening across all areas, including economic, political, cultural, and energy cooperation, Türkiye's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün said at an event in Baku organized by the Seranit brand in cooperation with SinerjiPro, according to Report.
"Especially after the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 and the liberation of Karabakh, these relations have gained a completely new vision. With the signing of the Shusha Declaration, Türkiye and Azerbaijan have, in a real sense, become strategic allies," he said.
Akgün noted that under the leadership of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, solidarity between the two countries has reached a level that can serve as an example for the world.
He also highlighted shared cultural and urban traditions within the Turkic world.
"Cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Baku, Konya, Bursa, Edirne, Istanbul, Ankara, Astana, and Bishkek are key examples of Turkic civilization in terms of architecture and aesthetics. Cities are not only roads, metro systems, and infrastructure," he said.
The ambassador emphasized that Baku remains one of the leading cities boldly showcasing the architectural vision of the 21st century.
He concluded by thanking the organizers and noting that architecture, urban planning, and aesthetics are particularly important in the context of the upcoming WUF13 and the city's future development.
