Train intervals in Baku Metro to be reduced to 2 minutes

The implementation of new Baku Metro development projects will reduce train intervals, increase throughput, and decrease the load on public transport, said Bakhtiyar Mammadov, head of the press service of Baku Metro CJSC, Report informs.

He stated that the minimum train interval on the Green and Red Lines is currently 3 minutes 30 seconds, but after the completion of the projects (to expand the metro - ed.), this will be reduced to two minutes.

Furthermore, backup trains will be provided on other lines, allowing for more efficient passenger flow management.

He also announced that 10 new metro stations are planned for construction in the coming years.

This will increase passenger capacity, reduce the load on ground transportation, help reduce traffic congestion, and improve mobility, he said.

He added that Baku Metro is also working to improve passenger flow efficiency on the 28 May - Hazi Aslanov section.

Passengers arriving at 28 May station from Hazi Aslanov station sometimes have to skip one train and wait for the next one.

Once the project to separate the two lines is completed, they will be able to reach their destination on the first arriving train.
