During the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) construction, which will transport Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe, olive trees, temporarily removed from Italy and relocated, have been planted in their former places.
Report informs, citing TAP's official Twitter page, that its specialized contractors replanted the healthy olive trees, which had been moved from the pipeline route and cared for in canopies in Masseria del Capitano, close to the PRT area. Thus, 828 olive trees, some considered monumental, are returning to their original locations, using a geo-reference tracking system.
According to the information, these olive trees were returned to their previous places after 3.5 years.
