State-owned civil airports in Azerbaijan may be transferred to the management of a private partner, as stipulated in the new Airport Management Rules approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Report, under the document, airports may be transferred for management to business entities under the provisions of the Civil Code or through public-private partnership (PPP) projects in accordance with the Law on Public-Private Partnership and other relevant legal and regulatory acts.
The new rules establish a legal framework allowing private-sector participation in the operation and management of state-owned civil airports through contractual arrangements and PPP mechanisms.
