Special rep: Construction of three new residential districts to begin in Kalbajar

Construction of three new residential districts is expected to begin in Kalbajar next year, Bashir Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar district, said.

According to Report's correspondent in Karabakh, he made the remarks to journalists during the Second Honey Festival in Kalbajar.

Hajiyev said reconstruction and development work is continuing in Kalbajar city and residents have already moved into the city's first residential district.

"Currently, 162 families live here. Residents have been provided with jobs. Opportunities have been created for modular facilities to meet essential needs. Individual entrepreneurs have established their businesses and various facilities have been opened," he said.

The special representative noted that around 30 modular facilities are currently operating in Kalbajar city, contributing to greater economic activity and the creation of new jobs.

"Residents work both at these facilities and in government institutions. Our children attend school," he added.

Hajiyev said construction of a school complex in Kalbajar is also nearing completion. In addition to a school and kindergarten, the complex is expected to include workshops for vocational education.

He noted that construction of three new residential districts in Kalbajar city is planned to begin next year.

"The design work has already been completed and the projects are currently undergoing expert review. Construction is expected to start next year," Hajiyev said.

According to him, the second residential district will comprise 182 apartments, the third 476 apartments and the fourth 807 apartments. The districts are planned to be supplied with hot water, gas, electricity and high-speed internet.

Design work for Kalbajar city park has already been completed, with construction expected to begin next year. An administrative building is also being designed.

Hajiyev stressed that reconstruction and development work is being carried out in stages, with particular attention paid to technical issues during the design phase.

He also provided information about construction work in Zar village, saying it is nearing completion.

A total of 547 individual houses, a kindergarten for 100 children and a school for 528 students have been built in the village.

"Once construction is completed in the near future, relocation will also take place. The village's original residents will return to their land, live there and work there," he said.
