SOCAR Fiber, TurkNet agree to strengthen Türkiye's internet infrastructure

SOCAR Fiber, a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkiye Enerji, and TurkNet have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen Turkiye's internet infrastructure, Report informs referring to SOCAR Turkiye Enerji.

"As part of the project, SOCAR Fiber's 1,850 km long fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) along the TANAP gas pipeline will be integrated into the TurkNet backbone network," reads the statement.

It is noted that as part of the cooperation, this FOCL, which runs from Georgia to Greece, will now also run near the cities of Bursa, Eskisehir, Ankara, Sivas, Erzurum and Kars, providing users in these cities with high-speed and stable internet connection.

SOCAR Fiber was founded in 2013 to meet the growing demand for IP traffic and high-speed internet connection. The company provides services in 20 cities and 67 districts, laying a 1,850 km long fiber optic line that crosses Turkiye from east to west.
