Smart monitoring and security systems will be implemented in Icherisheher

A unified digital service system has been created for residents and tourists in Icherisheher, Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Board of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, said at the "Smart and Sustainable City Projects in Azerbaijan" event organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, great attention is paid to public services and communication with residents in Icherisheher: "We have created a centralized service center model where residents can submit their applications, track the progress, and communicate directly with the administration through a more transparent and accountable process. We have also launched the 'Icherisheher' mobile application, which I recommend everyone download, and today this application serves both tourists and residents. Visitors can use multilingual navigation, get information about museums, event schedules, and cultural routes; while residents can directly request services and report problems."

In addition, the chairman said that smart monitoring and security systems will soon be implemented in Icherisheher: "However, this is only the beginning of the smart reserve transformation. Our next phase includes the implementation of a smart camera system and advanced urban monitoring tools within the historic city that will help better manage security, visitor flow, and preservation risks. The point is that these systems are designed not only from a security perspective but also from an urban management perspective, helping us better understand how public spaces function in real time."
