Rufat Mahmud: No possibility of Icherisheher being included in UNESCO's List of World Heritage in Danger

The probability of Icherisheher being placed on UNESCO's List of World Heritage in Danger is equal to zero, Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Board of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, told Report.

According to him, very close cooperation is being carried out with UNESCO: "UNESCO experts regularly visit Icherisheher and provide opinions regarding the preservation of monuments. The opinions are usually positive, because a very active program is being implemented in Icherisheher regarding the preservation of monuments. Regular monitoring is conducted. At the same time, being on UNESCO's list is not just about the preservation of monuments - as you know, this is a city where people live, and the preservation of the environment here is also very important. Very active work is being carried out in that direction as well, and the probability of being placed on the 'danger list' you mentioned is equal to zero."
