Icherisheher is not simply an open-air museum, but a living space, stated the chairman of the Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve Icherisheher Rufat Mahmud at an event within the framework of WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, there are many parallels between Baku and the Iraqi city of Erbil: both cities are among the oldest continuously inhabited settlements, both were at the crossroads of various cultures and religions, which inevitably shaped the mentality of their residents.
"And finally, the Citadel of Erbil is very reminiscent of our Old City, and this is undoubtedly a source of pride for all of us," Mahmud noted.
