According to the Master Plan of Baku, the city is envisioned not simply as a growing megacity, but as a greener, more inclusive, sustainable, and competitive global city, Riad Gasimov, Head of the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of Baku, said during an event held within the framework of WUF13, according to Report.
"The first priority of the master plan is improving the quality of life for residents. The master plan places great emphasis on the development of public spaces, including parks, pedestrian environments, social infrastructure, and accessible urban services. The second priority is environmental and climate sustainability. Special attention is given to expanding green areas, reducing environmental pressure, and improving air quality and urban ecology," he said.
