The gathering of all institutions on a single platform at the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku is of special importance for the future of humanity and housing provision, Akram Nassar, General Manager of the Palestinian Water Supply and Sewerage Authority and member of GWOPA's Arab region, told Report.
According to him, the joint representation of different sectors plays a vital role in solving global issues: "Representing WUF13 here is very important for all parties. This is not only about local government. A unity has been formed among local, state, private, and even household institutions. Housing is also discussed here, and it is clear that housing is essential for humanity's survival."
Nassar also highlighted the importance of protecting the Earth: "The essence shown at the beginning of the conference is very clear. First comes the call to protect the planet, then mutual support to understand everyone's exact needs and take the right position. This means helping improvement, development, proper use of materials and products, and ensuring decent living conditions. No country is completely free of problems. Everyone has their own challenges. We try to solve issues by sharing them together, transferring solutions from one country to another. In this way, it can serve as an example, a replicable model. That is why we must first and foremost work together."
