Omuraliev: Middle Corridor strengthens role of Turkic states in global logistics

The development of transport and digital corridors is increasing the importance of Turkic countries in global logistics, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanichbek Omuraliev said at the informal OTS summit in Turkistan, according to Report's correspondent.

Omuraliev said that the Middle Corridor continues to strengthen its role as an important route for transport and logistics connectivity.

"The Middle Corridor continues to increase its importance as a key route for transport and logistics cooperation. Infrastructure projects such as the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, and the Zangazur Corridor play a special role in this process. The development of these connections will further enhance the role of our region in global transport routes. To fully realize this potential, it is necessary to improve customs procedures, digital systems, and coordination mechanisms, which will accelerate processes and increase efficiency," he said.

According to him, cooperation in this area is being developed with international organizations, including the International Transport Union.

He also announced plans to introduce artificial intelligence technologies into the transport and logistics sector.

Omuraliev added that digital connectivity today is becoming just as important as physical infrastructure links.

He highlighted the special significance of digital corridor projects, including the digital cable corridor along the bottom of the Caspian Sea between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

"This project will become a strategic digital bridge across the Caspian Sea and will ensure closer integration of the Turkic world," the OTS secretary general emphasized.
