On the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Azerbaijan and Türkiye plan to sign a new agreement tomorrow on ecology, urban planning, and territorial development, the details of which have not yet been disclosed, Turkish Deputy Minister of Environment, Urban Development, and Climate Change, Omer Bulut, said at WUF13, Report informs.
According to him, a high level of coordination has already been established between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in virtually all areas of public administration.
"From the defense industry to the tourism sector, from agriculture to the construction industry, the two countries have always acted according to the principle of 'one people, two states.' Our sphere encompasses issues of ecology and urban development. In this context, Azerbaijan's investments in Türkiye, especially its support during the earthquake, are of particular value to us," the deputy minister stated.
The deputy minister emphasized that Türkiye is actively sharing its experience in implementing social housing and modern urban development projects with its Azerbaijani counterparts.
"As is well known, the Karabakh region is already open to new settlement. Since these territories were under occupation for many years, our countries have established close cooperation towards their restoration. Following the talks between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, all issues requiring resolution are being discussed in detail at the relevant levels," he said.
According to Bulut, cooperation between the countries encompasses both the restoration of the liberated territories of Karabakh and the implementation of projects in other regions of Azerbaijan, including Baku.
"We intend to continue implementing projects that will benefit both countries. This is not so much about profit as it is about brotherhood, strategic partnership, and joint development," the deputy minister added.
