New hydrographic posts to appear on banks of Araz River in Azerbaijan

New observation posts are planned to be installed on the banks of the Araz River in Azerbaijan to monitor water resources, Head of the Cadastral Registration and Registry Department of the State Supervision Service for Water Use and Protection Rafig Verdiyev said at the panel discussion "Environmental Protection Technologies and Practices" within the Baku Water Week, Report informs.
He noted that the activities of these posts will play an important role in water resource management and assessing the effectiveness of measures to adapt to climate change. Currently, 40 of the 148 existing hydroposts are already operating in automated mode, 64 are being prepared for launch, he said.
"Thirteen new observation points have been created in the Karabakh region liberated from occupation. Additional hydroposts will also appear on the banks of the Araz," he added.
