MP: Ukraine needs unified state strategy for housing reconstruction

Ukraine needs a unified state strategy for housing reconstruction and support for internally displaced persons, Ukrainian Member of Parliament Pavlo Frolov said in a video address during an event held within the framework of WUF13.

Report quotes him as saying that state institutions, municipalities, parliament, civil society, and international partners are currently often working in parallel rather than within a unified system.

Frolov stated that a special parliamentary commission on the property and non-property rights of internally displaced persons has spent the past two years promoting the creation of a unified registry, a common assessment methodology, and a transparent housing allocation mechanism.

"We still have not reached the required level of coordination," he emphasized.

According to the MP, the reconstruction of Ukraine"s housing sector should not be limited to isolated pilot projects; the country needs a comprehensive strategy with legislative, financial, and institutional mechanisms.
