Risks to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz highlight the importance of alternative energy and trade routes, including Caspian export corridors and the South Caucasus transit network, Report informs referring to the international rating agency Moody's.
"The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), linking China and Europe via Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkiye, is benefiting from current trade diversions, providing growth opportunities for the region's rail and logistics operators. However, realising this potential will require substantial investment, with associated execution and leverage risks, as well as progress on easing bottlenecks at the Caspian crossing," the agency noted.
