Kazuko Ishigaki: World needs to rethink manufacturing, supply chains

The world needs to rethink production and supply chains to ensure global sustainability, UN-Habitat Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific Kazuko Ishigaki said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
She noted that global efforts are growing to move beyond traditional approaches to waste management and find more integrated and innovative solutions.
"This includes moving to circular systems, reviewing and improving production systems and supply chains, assessing climate impacts, and ensuring that no community, especially vulnerable groups, is left behind," she said.
