Kazakhstan to accelerate development of its terminal network abroad, including project in Alat

Kazakhstan will accelerate the construction of its terminal network abroad, including facilities in Alat in Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the Kazakh government.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed the Ministry of Transport, in conjunction with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways), to complete the development of the terminal network by July 1, 2027, including in Astana and abroad.
This includes projects in Alat, Svislach, Selyatino, Budapest, Chengdu, and Constanta, which are aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan's transit potential and attracting new freight flows.
"In recent years, the development of railway infrastructure has focused on completing projects already underway. Plans have also been outlined to upgrade the fleet of wagons and locomotives. Now it is necessary to move on to further infrastructure development. In particular, it is necessary to expand the international terminal network aimed at redirecting freight flows through Kazakhstan," Olzhas Bektenov noted.
According to the prime minister, the implementation of these projects will significantly increase Kazakhstan's transit potential.
