Iliana Iotova: Ilham Aliyev turned Baku into city where everyone talks about future

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has transformed Baku into a city where everyone talks about the future, Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova said at the WUF13 Leaders' Summit in Baku, Report informs.

She thanked the Azerbaijani leader for the excellent organization of the event.

"President Ilham Aliyev has transformed Baku into a place where everyone talks about the future. Currently, 2.8 billion people in the world are homeless. To solve this problem in the next decade, we need to build one house every second. This is not a question of the market, but of justice," Iotova said.

She emphasized that when a city loses its ability to provide housing, it loses its people. A modern city is a space where no one feels excluded.

"The problems are the same, so the solutions must be the same. Investments must be focused on people. Smart city systems only make sense when they serve people," the Bulgarian president concluded.
