Ilham Aliyev approves amendments to Azerbaijan's aviation law

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the law "On Aviation," adopted by the Milli Majlis on July 14, Report informs.

Under the amendments, the body designated by the relevant executive authority will establish not only rules for the use of airspace and the operation of flights, but also rules for the use of airspace and flights by ultralight aircraft.

The president also signed a decree on the application of the updated law and the regulation of related issues. Under the document, the Cabinet of Ministers must prepare proposals within four months on establishing liability for violations of requirements for the use and operation of ultralight aircraft.

The rules for their use and operation must include requirements for the technical specifications of the aircraft, registration, training and certification of operators, permitted and prohibited flight zones, and safety measures.
