The next annual meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the World Air Transport Summit (WATS) will be held in China, IAG Director General and Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors for 2025–2026, Luis Gallego, said at the opening ceremony of the IATA 82nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) & World Air Transport Summit (WATS).

According to a Report correspondent from Rio de Janeiro, the 83rd IATA Annual Meeting will be held from May 30 to June 1, 2027, in Xiamen, China.

IATA is the largest international air transport industry association, representing approximately 330 airlines, representing over 80% of global air traffic.

The organization develops international standards for the aviation industry, including aviation safety requirements. One of the key control tools is the IOSA operational safety audit, which is mandatory for association members.
