Horadiz-Aghband highway nears completion, Vahid Hajiyev says

Construction of the Horadiz-Aghband highway is nearing completion, while the railway line is also in its final stage of construction, Vahid Hajiyev, the President's Special Representative in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, said at the opening ceremony of the 7th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, Report informs.

He said many companies have expressed interest in establishing warehouse complexes and logistics centers in the region, as well as expanding cargo transportation and storage capacities.

"All of this will give a significant boost to the region's economic development and its transformation into an international transport hub," Hajiyev said.

He stressed that the Great Return is not only about people returning to their homes, but also about the return of business, education, the service sector, new ideas and opportunities.

"The state is creating the necessary conditions for the successful implementation of this process. Tax and customs incentives are being introduced, financial mechanisms are being created for entrepreneurs, and broad support is being provided to investors. As a result, priority sectors such as agriculture, logistics, services, tourism and culture are developing rapidly in the region. Two major economic zones have been established in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur economic regions. One is the Aghdam Industrial Park, and the other is the Araz Valley Economic Zone in Jabrayil. More than 19 resident companies are already operating or implementing projects in the Araz Valley Economic Zone. Some enterprises have already been commissioned, and residents returning to the region are now employed there," he said.
