Hasan Suver: Türkiye builds over 455,000 apartments in the quake zone

More than 455,000 apartments have been constructed in Türkiye's earthquake-affected regions, Hasan Suver, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of Türkiye, said during a conference held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.

Suver explained that the reconstruction process involves not only building housing units but also creating comprehensive living spaces with infrastructure, social facilities, green areas, energy efficiency measures, and ecological sustainability.

"In strengthening urban resilience, financial instruments are also critically important. Within this framework, the social housing initiative - targeting 500,000 apartments across 81 provinces and 100,000 apartments in Istanbul - supports access to safe and affordable housing," he said.
