Habibov: Azerbaijan - one of most important transport, logistics centers in region

Azerbaijan has become one of the region's most important transport and logistics hubs, Kamran Habibov, chairman of the Commission on Transport and Logistics Enterprises of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK), said at the 2nd Caspian International Transport, Transit, and Logistics Forum in Baku, Report informs.

"The changes taking place globally in recent years demonstrate that reliable and sustainable transport routes are more important than ever. Azerbaijan is an important transport hub connecting East with West, North with South. In the modern world, logistics is more than just freight transport; it is the primary driver of international trade," Habibov said.

He added that, in this context, the Middle Corridor is of strategic importance for international trade.

"Azerbaijan is a key participant in this corridor. The development of railways, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line, the Alat International Seaport, and new logistics centers further enhance Azerbaijan's transit capabilities," he noted.
