Georgian minister: Transportation on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway up by 56.4%

"From January through August 2021, the volume of cargo transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, operating in test mode, increased by 56.4%," Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Natia Turnava said, Report informs.
The minister said that the railway would be better used after its full commissioning.
"The participating countries agreed to intensify efforts to complete the project shortly. We also agreed to simplify procedures. This, in turn, will increase freight traffic along the route," she said.
Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan signed a joint protocol on BTK in Istanbul yesterday.
