France is proposing an initiative to establish an international exchange of effective housing solutions, Yves-Laurent Sapoval, France's Ministerial Delegate for Sustainable Cities, said at a panel discussion at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
"I call for more active dissemination of successful housing development practices across different regions of the world. Wherever we go, we see that solutions have already been found," he emphasized.
Sapoval noted that effective practices tested in South American countries often remain completely unknown on the African continent.
"Social rental housing is an undervalued tool that is extremely rarely considered in the development of national housing policies," the French delegate added.
