Fifth ministerial meeting on urban planning, climate may be held during COP31 in Türkiye

Brazil plans to organize the fifth ministerial meeting on urban planning and climate issues as part of COP31 in Antalya.

Report informs that Antonio da Costa e Silva, head of the international relations department at Brazil"s Ministry of Cities, said this at a high-level meeting of the Baku Sustainability Coalition for Urban Climate Action and Sustainable Urbanization, held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

"We made great efforts to consciously shape this agenda and fill it with real substance. Cities are not just marks on a map - they are also drivers of climate solutions and shape the future we are trying to leave to future generations," he stressed.

The UN Climate Change Conference, COP31, is scheduled to be held in Antalya from November 9 to 20, 2026. This is due to Australia transferring the right to host the summit to Türkiye and withdrawing from co-chairmanship.
