Expert: Latin America, Caribbean at critical stage of climate crisis

Latin America and the Caribbean have entered a critical phase of a profound climate crisis, Fiona Littlejohn-Carrillo, representative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL), said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
She noted that the region is facing rising inequality, accelerated urbanization, and increasing climate risks, which are already impacting the economy and territorial development.
She added that housing vulnerability is becoming a key factor affecting the resilience of cities and the economic performance of countries in the region.
