Eritrea praises scale of construction, restoration work in Karabakh, Eastern Zangazur

Eritrea admires the progress of construction and restoration work in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, Eritrea's Ambassador to Kenya, Beyene Russom, said at a ministerial roundtable during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, as quoted by Report.

"Eritrea has similar experience in urban and infrastructure rehabilitation, including in rural and agricultural areas. Effective rehabilitation promotes renewed connections between urban centers and rural communities. In this regard, Eritrea welcomes the launch of the Smart Sustainable Settlements for Safe Return package under the Safe Return Solutions Initiative (SRP), led by SCUPA, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and the Baku Climate and Peace Action Fund.

We express our support for the initiative's objectives, which are to develop voluntary guidelines for standardizing climate-resilient and peaceful recovery in fragile and post-conflict situations. We call for the formation of a working group to advance this effort, as well as for facilitating access to climate and development finance to implement this project," the diplomat emphasized.
