Egypt has created a mechanism for long-term housing policy planning, May Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Egyptian Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, said at an event at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to her, in 2014, the government decided to create a fund specifically focused on housing provision, facilitating mortgage lending, distributing subsidies, and all of these issues.
"We managed to involve all stakeholders in the fund's board of directors and achieve institutional stability, which I consider a great blessing. Over the past 10-12 years, we have been able to provide housing to over 800,000 households," she said.
