The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development recommends that countries build "smart" housing in cities with reduced electricity costs, Bojan Bogdanovic, Principal Specialist for Energy Efficiency at the Sustainable Infrastructure Group of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, said during an event held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum 13 in Baku.
Report quotes him as saying buildings must be constructed in a "smart way," while ensuring affordable housing, reducing energy consumption, and lowering energy costs.
"In this way, our cities will become more resilient to crises. Today, it is extremely important to focus on practical solutions for the large-scale construction of affordable housing under climate change conditions. The EBRD"s motto is ‘We invest to change lives." This means that we aim to develop good ideas and implement projects that can be replicated on a large scale and are attractive for investment," he said.
