Rapid urbanization and internal migration pose serious threats to Guyana.
Report informs that Guyana's Minister of Housing and Water, Collin David Croal, said this at an event held as part of WUF13 in Baku.
According to him, 90% of the country's population lives on the coastal plain, while Guyana lies below sea level, creating additional challenges.
"When addressing the housing issue in a changing climate, the reality is that costs continue to rise. Global dynamics affect housing initiatives. What happens internationally affects us, and small economies feel this vulnerability more strongly. Therefore, access to housing will take longer to achieve and will inevitably be affected," Croal said.
